What are the Functions of Fire Hose Couplings for Marine
Fire hose couplings for marine applications are specialized connectors designed to withstand the unique challenges of marine environments. These couplings are typically made from corrosion-resistant materials such as brass or stainless steel to endure exposure to saltwater and harsh weather conditions. They ensure secure, leak-proof connections between hoses, pumps, and water sources on ships and offshore platforms. Marine fire hose couplings often comply with international maritime safety standards and are designed to remain functional under high pressure and extreme temperatures. They come in various types, including threaded, quick-connect, and storz, catering to different hose specifications and firefighting needs on board vessels.
EPDM lining offers excellent resistance to aging and chemicals. TPU lining is also available, providing the lowest friction loss and lighter weight. These linings remain flexible at temperatures as low as -40°F/-40°C. Compatible with Brass/Alu NST/NPSH threaded couplings, with other types available upon request.
